The invisible threat
Radon, colorless, odorless, and deadly. This naturally occurring radioactive gas seeps up from the breakdown of uranium in soil, rock, and water, and it can enter any building regardless of age or construction. Radon exposure is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States, responsible for an estimated 20,000 lung cancer deaths each year, and prolonged exposure has also been linked to stomach cancer. The only way to know whether it's present in your home is to test for it. As a Certified Radon Inspector, that's exactly what I do.
Continuous radon monitors: precision at its finest
SureLock uses Continuous Radon Monitors from Gregory Enterprises for accurate, reliable testing. These advanced electronic monitors far surpass traditional charcoal canisters, providing hourly radon measurements for a clearer picture of the exposure level in your home. You'll receive a comprehensive report detailing the average radon level along with the highest and lowest readings throughout the testing period. Tamper detection and battery backup keep results precise, even during a power failure.
Test, then breathe easy
The EPA and the Surgeon General recommend testing every home below the third floor for radon. Testing is inexpensive and quick. Should your home show elevated levels (the EPA action level is 4.0 pCi/L), don't worry, cost-effective mitigation can reduce even high levels to safe ones. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
